Lovely fall

I know I posted a little while back about loving Fall, but I wanted to share again.
My youngest and I met my husband for lunch today and went to a park to eat. While it rained last night, and everything is still wet and cold, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful trees and leaves that were surrounding the park we were in. I am such a detailed person that these leaves caught my eye. I probably looked silly crouched down on the ground taking these photos, but who cares? I love the way they look and wanted to share.

I am just in awe of the colors.

Gracie

This is our cat. She is an American Curl and has the best temperment. She's great with the kids and in my opinion is just beautiful.
I spied her resting in front of my crown pillow and thought she looked cute there with it above her, because sometimes I think, she does think she is a princess. :-)
This one was sweet I thought too. She was soaking up the sun that was coming in from the back sliding door.
And then just a close up of her.

Some fun pics we took at the end of the summer

A friend of ours let us use his barn as a back drop. I was looking for some perfect/professional pictures that I thought I could pull off myself of my kids. What I got was definitely not perfect nor 'professional' looking pictures. For one, I don't think my kids 'posed' like I thought they should have because it was 'mom' who was taking the pictures.
After looking at the finished photos the first time, and of course several hundreds times later, what I have concluded is that in fact, they are perfect. They are exactly what my kids are. Fun, silly, sweet, energetic kids. And I love how the pictures reveal that. Those are actually my favorite types of pictures. The ones where their personalities come shining through the pictures instead of perfect little people that were posed in sometimes not so comfortable angles.

Notice the little guys shoe on my daughter's leg and the middle guy looking at her leg. That cracks me up

Here are some cute ideas again from Jeanette Lynton's blog. I just love looking at her projects.

Both of these items made using the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge.

Ruffles and Rust

I went to the Ruffles and Rust show yesterday, that runs through today, up in Monroe, Wa. I went with a good friend of mine who is new to the antique shopping frenzy. She says she liked it and would also like to go to the Farm Chicks show next year with me. YAY!!
It rained yesterday, but that didn't stop us from having a good time indoors. It was twice as big as last year, with twice as many people. I just wanted to share some fun photos with you of what it was like.

Thirty-one

A good friend of mine recently signed up to sell Thirty-one gifts. It is a great company that sells totes, purses, accessories and more that help you organize your life and they have beautiful and fun fabrics to choose from too.
Here is what I purchased and am even more happy with it than I thought. I just love how these coordinate. To check out their website, go here.  This first one is a cute smaller tote with mesh pockets on both ends. Good for maybe crafts, a few groceries, bottles?
This one is an insulated tote that I use for lunch. It can keep foods hot or cold. I love the two fabrics used. (See the other side for the other fabric used in the next picture)
The dotted on in the middle is just a zippered pouch. I added the nail polish so you can get an idea of the sizes. They are good sizes, but not too big and bulky. Just what I like.

Invitation

My daughter's 12th birthday is coming up and after much deliberation decided she wanted a Hello Kitty birthday themed party.
I just love Hello Kitty. We happen to have a store in our mall that carries a ton of Hello Kitty stuff, so this will be fun to shop for the party.
I also love to make my children's invitations and thought I would see what I could come up with Hello Kitty wise. This was made only using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

Garden Art

My daughter, who is in 6th grade now, made these beautiful plant stakes last year in 5th grade and over the summer. Her sweet teacher asked if she could come back and help her finish up some glass projects known as "fusible glass". Which is just that. Fusing glass together in a kiln.
She is so proud of her work, as she should be. We too are very proud. (her dad and I) She loves art. Any and all kinds, and I just love seeing what she creates.
I just wanted to share with you these little lovelies. Another thing in the garden that makes me happy when I look at them.
This one is not actually a plant stake, but just a picture of an elephant for the art walk at the elementary last year. I just love the detail she put into it.

Succulents make me happy

I love succulents. All kinds of them. They make me happy just to look at them. I do not however, have a green thumb, which is good for the succulents because they are very resilient and can handle my not so loving touch. Not that I am rough with them or don't try to give them the best possible care. My intentions are very very well, it just happens that I more often than not, kill my poor plants. I have however somewhat managed to not kill a couple tomato plants this past summer. Only after having killed several the past few years I finally learned what they like and do not like. The fruits of my labor, and exasperation are small and few, but still I managed to help it live so it could bear a little fruit.
Here is what I mean by my not so green thumb. I planted these lovely girls and did not provide drainage. They still managed to survive.

I finally decided, (why today, I do not know) to move them to a more appropriate home.

They are a little dirty from the move, but should be just fine. I am hoping they will multiply and fill the container so they overflow. I just love that look.  Here are some other of my favorite succulents I have scattered about in my back yard.

And some photos of my tomatoes. The smaller ones with a single strawberry are mine, and the larger batch is from my parent's friend's garden. Thanks for sharing with us mom! I hope to get mine to grow that big someday. :-) In my defense though, mine are cherry tomatoes. lol
Left a little too long on the vine, they burst from so much water

Halloween Layout

This is one of my favorite paper packs from Close To My Heart. It is the Mischief level 2 paper pack and I also used the All Hallows Eve stamp set.
I used Liquid Glass which is a clear liquid dimensional embellishment on the spider and the web which when dried, looks shiny and glass like. It is great for creating rain drops on artwork too. The body of the spider is not yet fully dry, which is why it looks a little milky. But it will be clear and glossy when it does dry.
This tree and the fence I cut out using CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and the black and cream ribbon at the bottom is paper from the pack that I hand folded just for embellishment. A photo will eventually go in the top left corner, but I wanted to share anyway.
Enjoy your day!
