Remembering my Grandmother Nina

October is an emotional month for me. Not exactly sad emotional, but a mixture of sad, happy, comforting thoughts.
My Grandmother Nina passed away in 2010 almost a year after having lost her husband, my Granddad, in 2009.
I picked up the paper today, which happens to be this past Sunday's paper, (I know, I'm late at looking at it! lol), and when I opened the adds, which is my favorite part of the Sunday paper, the first page I looked at,  I saw my sweet Grandmother's name. Nina. Said so the " i " says it's name, printed there in an add for Yoplait yogurt breast cancer awareness. The underside of the yogurt lids in the add have women's names printed on them and there almost smack dab in the middle of the page is Nina. This also hit a sensitive spot because she also was diagnosed with breast cancer many years ago and underwent a single mastectomy and recovered beautifully after undergoing chemo.
Do you believe in coincidences? Not sure if I do. I like to think that she sometimes comes to visit. Even if it's not real, I like to think it.
Also, October happens to be her birthday month.
Before I saw the add, I also happened to use a milk glass bowl that used to be hers, for breakfast this morning. I haven't used it but once since she's been gone. How coincidental is that?
Here are a few pictures of items that were her's that I was fortunate enough to inherit.
But first, a picture of her and I about 5 years ago right after my youngest was born.

A birdhouse that I simply adore.
The dishes that were hers. Love love love milk glass and some cute pink sherbet glasses.

And the add that gave me goosebumps. In a good way.

Have a wonderful day,
D
