June's workshop projects

Last night was our June Close To My Heart workshop.
We made 2 non-traditional cards and a gift box.
This first one is called a honeycomb style card. I used 24-2 1/2  inch hearts cut out using my Cricut, trimmed the points off the bottom, sponged the tops with Pear ink and the bottoms with Holiday Red ink and glued them together to make an apple.
This one is called a triangle card that uses 3-4 1/4x4 1/4 inch squares with 3-4x4 inch squares for the patterned paper and glued together to make a triangle. The ladies in our workshop came up with some cool ideas for this fun shaped card. Maybe a party hat? Or Christmas trees? The possibilities are endless!

This one is a sample of a more simple version.

And then, our last project was a Thank You gift filled with yogurt covered cinnamon pretzels. The cut out in front was cut with the Cricut.
Enjoy your day,

Farm Chicks 2012

The Farm Chicks show this year was a last minute decision. I try to go every year. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. This year it happened. And I'm so excited that it did!
It is a wonderful and spectacular show with antiques, vintage objects and handmade goods from over 200 vendors, the first weekend in June, in Spokane, Wa.
You can read all about it at the Farm Chicks website to get more info.
This year it was a family mini vacation with my MIL, my parents, my husband and kids and my sister and her daughter. Very fun and enjoyable.
This is where we stayed. Northern Quest Resort and Casino about 20 min from downtown Spokane.

Kids after our long drive. 5 hours.
Standing in line waiting to buy tickets
Some cute green velvet shoes at one of the first booths

I didn't realize I didn't take any more photos of inside of the show other than those green shoes. It was so busy and I also was busy and occupied looking at the rows and rows of amazing booths. But, my husband was outside taking a break and saw this really cool looking truck.
How fun is that?
Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend and
Enjoy your day,
D
